Origin
In Nicaragua, coffee is grown in the northern mountains, often in the shade of other trees. The SHG (Strictly High Grown) designation refers to coffee grown at high altitude, whose dense beans develop more aromas.
On the palate
The cup is smooth (intensity 4 out of 10) and lightly bright, with chocolate, caramel and tropical fruit. An easy-drinking coffee, enjoyable from morning to evening.
How to brew it
It makes a very good coffee in a moka pot as well as filter. Its smoothness also appeals to those who add a little milk.
Moka pot method: fill the base with water up to the valve, add the ground coffee to the filter basket without tamping, then heat over medium heat. Take the pot off the heat as soon as the coffee starts to gurgle, to avoid bitterness.
Order whole beans for a bean-to-cup coffee machine (De’Longhi, Krups, Philips…) or a grinder, or choose the grind that suits your brewer: espresso machine, moka pot, filter or French press.
