Origin

Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica. The Sidamo region, in the south of the country, produces coffees renowned for their floral aromas. The name “Mocha” recalls the port of Mocha, through which coffees from Ethiopia and Yemen were once exported.

On the palate

The cup is smooth and silky, with jasmine, apricot and wild nuances. The acidity is delicate and the character harmonious. Drink it without sugar to enjoy its perfume.

How to brew it

Filter and French press bring out its floral notes. In a moka pot, it gives an aromatic, rounder cup.

Moka pot method: fill the base with water up to the valve, add the ground coffee to the filter basket without tamping, then heat over medium heat. Take the pot off the heat as soon as the coffee starts to gurgle, to avoid bitterness.

Order whole beans for a bean-to-cup coffee machine (De’Longhi, Krups, Philips…) or a grinder, or choose the grind that suits your brewer: espresso machine, moka pot, filter or French press.

Frequently asked questions

Why is it called Mocha?

The name comes from the port of Mocha, in Yemen, from which Ethiopian coffees were once shipped. Today it refers to Ethiopian coffees with a floral perfume.

Is it a strong coffee?

Its intensity is medium (5 out of 10). Its strength lies in its perfume rather than in bitterness.

Which grind should I choose for the Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo Organic?

Filter and French press bring out its floral notes. In a moka pot, it gives an aromatic, rounder cup. Choose whole beans for a bean-to-cup machine or a grinder. Otherwise, pick the grind for your brewer: espresso machine (fine), moka pot (fine to medium), filter (medium) or French press (coarse).

Can I drink the Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo Organic with milk?

We recommend drinking it black to enjoy its notes (fruity, apricot and jasmine). Milk masks some of its finesse, but it is still pleasant with a dash of milk.

How many cups per bag?

A 125 g bag makes about 17 espressos (at 7 g per cup), and a 250 g bag about 35.

How should I store the Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo Organic?

Keep the bag tightly closed, away from air, light, heat and moisture, at room temperature rather than in the fridge. Once opened, enjoy it within 3 to 4 weeks to get the most out of its aromas.

Where can I buy the Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo Organic in Morocco?

On ticafew.ma. The Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo Organic is artisan-roasted in France and delivered anywhere in Morocco within 2 to 5 days from Agadir, with cash on delivery. Delivery is free on orders of 350 DH or more.
