Origin

Guatemala produces renowned high-altitude coffees, grown on volcanic soils. The SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) designation refers to a high-altitude coffee with dense, aromatic beans.

On the palate

The cup is medium-bodied (intensity 4 out of 10), with chocolate, a spicy touch and fruity notes. Overall it is smooth and well balanced.

How to brew it

It suits every brewing method. In a moka pot, it highlights chocolate; as filter coffee, its fruity and spicy notes.

Moka pot method: fill the base with water up to the valve, add the ground coffee to the filter basket without tamping, then heat over medium heat. Take the pot off the heat as soon as the coffee starts to gurgle, to avoid bitterness.

Order whole beans for a bean-to-cup coffee machine (De’Longhi, Krups, Philips…) or a grinder, or choose the grind that suits your brewer: espresso machine, moka pot, filter or French press.
